Mexican Horse Gear


Two examples of Mexican saddles. The one above being of the “skeleton” type and the one on the left sporting full underskirting. Note the different styles of saddle horns. There was no set pattern for equipment of this early period. It was not mass produced. The aesthetics of shape, style, and decoration reflected the taste of the maker or builder and considerable artistic license was taken by saddlemakers of the day.
